Where Over It introduced themes of frustration, emotional exhaustion, and longing, and Still Over It deepened the narrative with the weight of unresolved wounds, Finally Over It arrives as the emotional release, a space of closure, clarity, and soft reclamation. The album leans into themes of romantic reflection, healing, self-worth, and stepping into a more aligned, grounded version of oneself. The visuals for this era adopt a bridal, ceremonial tone that symbolizes both commitment and letting go, tying together love, loss, rebirth, and acceptance. Commissioned as the merch designer for this rollout, my task was to interpret this evolution into wearable pieces that honor the trilogy’s journey: from pain to peace, from chaos to clarity, and from holding on to finally letting go. ObjectiveDesign a collection aimed to evoke a romantic, vulnerable, and slightly dramatic vibe using bridal-inspired motifs and romantic elements,&nbsp;translating the emotional journey of the album into wearable, meaningful, and visually cohesive pieces for fans. Audience Fans of Summer Walker and the R&amp;B community at large — primarily women and queer audiences ages 18–35 who relate to themes of love, heartbreak, growth, and softness. Doechii joined Doja Cat for a leg of The Scarlet Tour 2023, Doja’s world tour following the drop of her critically acclaimed album, Scarlet. Upon review of her various avenues of marketing and promotion, I noticed Doechii’s merchandise might benefit from a revamp. I pitched a design concept to her and her label to give them an idea of what I see for her and we went on to develop two pieces of official merch for the tour. ObjectiveTo use merch as not only a way to connect with fans, but as a tool for marketing. Creating pieces that can be worn together without brand overkill encourages fans to purchase more than one thing at a time, increasing units per transaction and allowing fans to create full looks out of merch in their everyday lives.&nbsp;With merch design, my goal is to encourage people to want to buy and wear as many pieces as much as possible to market a brand, artist or project. Audience Younger gen-z and millenial music lovers, specifically those that are fans of women in rap, that integrate the genre into their everyday lives.&nbsp; ToneCasual, edgy, punk, street, fun, clean CONCEPT TeesI wanted to focus on a color palette that’s fun but offers some slight contrast. The swampy greens and pops of color align with Doechii’s Floridian Swamp Princess brand image and allow the pieces to be worn by just about anyone.The designs were created to allow ease of outfit pairing without losing the client’s identity. I wanted to keep accessories simple since there were already so many garments. The trucker hat can be worn with other pieces in the collection or as a final touch to a casual everyday streetwear outfit. Trucker hats specifically happen to be trending over the last year or so as well, which encourages more frequent wear. The thicker material offers a warmer garment to break the fall breeze. The shorts and pants serve as interchangeable bottoms between both the hoodie and the t-shirts.&nbsp; The one-color artwork on these garments allow for a clean and crisp screen-print to ensure a lasting and durable print. With her most recent single at the time, Pacer, being a campy blend of heavy metal and hip-hop, I wanted to produce a piece solely dedicated to her edgier, harsher and punkier side since this design would be printed on the darker garment. The custom typography was free-handed and inspired by death metal band logos with elements of swampy moss and vines. The placement on her head was used as a crown of sorts to play into her Swamp Queen aesthetic. The witchy glam on the portrait with the enlarged eye allows her villainous femininity to shine through the eeriness of the overall composition.&nbsp; For the second piece, I wanted to go a little lighter with the composition and focus on Doechii’s love for punky streetwear. The 3D typography was rendered as the main focus point without taking too much attention away from the rest of the design, using gold to tie in with the other colors in the photo. His sound fuses classic Houston rap energy with modern trap and country undertones, giving him a gritty yet charismatic edge. Beyond the music, his aesthetic pulls from Southern streetwear, car culture, and small-town swagger — equal parts rugged, bold, and unapologetically authentic. ObjectiveDesign a merchandise collection for That Mexican OT’s sophomore studio album, Texas Technician, as well as the tour for the album that captures his Southern roots and reflects the streetwear sensibility his fans already identify with. In addition, I was asked to design a separate collection for his personal streetwear brand, Lonestar, which carries a similar bold, Southern aesthetic and is sold exclusively at Zumiez. Both projects aimed to expand his visual identity through wearable pieces that feel authentic to his sound, culture, and lifestyle. Audience The audience skews young and deeply tapped into both hip-hop and street culture — mostly fans between 16–30 who are into bold graphic tees, Southern rap, and emerging streetwear brands. They’re drawn to pieces that feel authentic, not overly polished — the kind you’d see in a car meet, a rodeo, or a backyard function. They value statement pieces that rep OT’s lifestyle: Southern pride, small-town grit, and that loud, confident Texas energy. Birthed from a college project, the company currently operates out of The Bronx, NY and aspires to foster a rich culture of community uplifting through coffee and sustainability. The company is Black and Latinx owned and seeks to&nbsp;prioritize giving back to communities, locally and internationally where their coffee is sourced, while creating jobs and new opportunities in underserved neighborhoods.&nbsp; The ObjectiveDon Carvajal Café had a speedy beginning since being created in college and jumpstarting not too long before the pandemic. Their brand identity was quickly put together due to them being focused on getting started. Since steadily growing in recent years, it’s come time to create a new identity that not only feels pleasantly modern, but fluildy and simply represents the principles of which it stands and the place it holds to the current and target audience. Using Style Scapes, a method of moodboarding, a couple of visuals were created to give this client a better idea of what this could look like when fully fleshed out. Though similar, a little variety in complexity is given to allow the client to decide just how in depth we want to take it. While these people may be fictional, the buyers they represent are not. These may be simplified for quick consumption or written in depth to be added to a brand manual. The client was very set on keeping the mascot, his grandfather and the original Don Carvajal, as the face of the brand. I was given the icon on the left as inspiration to work from and began figuring out how I could not only simplify it and make it better, but how to best recreate it for it’s future applications. The typography is meant to compliment the icon rather compete with it in order to not only share the space it occupies, but still allow The Don to shine. The Title font should feel slightly Latino without feeling too specifically Central American, while the subheading is inspired by vintage New York signage and newspaper headlines. Along with some typical western tools, we added a few that are native to Latin countries and islands in The Caribbean, such as the greca from The Dominican Republic. The student-led club was founded in hopes to make drag accessible by hosting workshops and performing in shows, such as their annual TRANSFORM event. The club is named after Stuart Lewan, an alum of the class of 1979 who was one of the first advocates for queer student rights at Dartmouth. Now, decades after Lewan’s time at Dartmouth, Dartmouth has a space dedicated to the art of drag. ObjectiveThe House of Lewan wanted to create a couple of shirts for their organization merch to attract new members and to be sold at shows and meetings without breaking the bank on their alotted student organization funds. They requested one logo tee with a front print, and a second tee with a more complex design as a back print.&nbsp; Audience College students, ages around 18-25. Most focused on LGBTQIA and women.&nbsp; ToneColorful, casual, fun, feminine, unconventional. published to the 6,500 students living on the USF campus as well as roughly 45,000 commuters and staff. My goal was to maximize on the creative boundaries set by the university to not only have some fun with my design, but bring something a little more exciting about the way we communicated key information with our students, faculty and families. These allow RA’s to get to know their students easier as well as grant students the opportunity to introduce themselves before even meeting.
