Finally Over It serves as the concluding chapter in Summer Walker’s acclaimed album trilogy, following her debut album, Over it, and her sophomore follow up, Still Over It. Where Over It introduced themes of frustration, emotional exhaustion, and longing, and Still Over It deepened the narrative with the weight of unresolved wounds, Finally Over It arrives as the emotional release, a space of closure, clarity, and soft reclamation. The album leans into themes of romantic reflection, healing, self-worth, and stepping into a more aligned, grounded version of oneself. The visuals for this era adopt a bridal, ceremonial tone that symbolizes both commitment and letting go, tying together love, loss, rebirth, and acceptance. Commissioned as the merch designer for this rollout, my task was to interpret this evolution into wearable pieces that honor the trilogy’s journey: from pain to peace, from chaos to clarity, and from holding on to finally letting go.Objective
Design a collection aimed to evoke a romantic, vulnerable, and slightly dramatic vibe using bridal-inspired motifs and romantic elements,translating the emotional journey of the album into wearable, meaningful, and visually cohesive pieces for fans.
Audience
Fans of Summer Walker and the R&B community at large — primarily women and queer audiences ages 18–35 who relate to themes of love, heartbreak, growth, and softness. The merch was designed to appeal to both dedicated fans seeking collectible pieces and casual listeners drawn to elevated, fashion-forward streetwear.Tone
